Athlete Mentorship
Mentorship here means a coach who knows the athlete outside the session: what their season looks like, how school is going, what they are actually trying to get to. It runs alongside training rather than instead of it.
What it is not
It is not counseling or therapy, and coaches here are not trained clinicians. If an athlete is dealing with something that needs a professional, the right move is to say so and help the family find one — not to handle it in a gym.
That line matters, so we state it plainly rather than leaving it implied.
What it covers
Goals, and what they cost
Most athletes have a goal and no plan attached to it. We break it into what has to be true along the way, put dates on it, and check in against those dates instead of against how motivated someone feels that week.
Accountability
Regular check-ins about whether the work is getting done — the training, the sleep, the things that get skipped first. Athletes are told directly when it is not happening.
School alongside a season
Time management during the parts of the year when practice, travel, and exams collide. Practical scheduling, not a lecture about priorities.
Recruiting
What the process actually involves, what a highlight film needs, when to send it, and how to talk to a coach. Also an honest read on where an athlete stands, which is the part most people avoid saying out loud.
Handling a bad stretch
Every athlete gets benched, loses a spot, or plays badly for a month. The useful work is deciding what to do next, and coaches here have been through it themselves.
Bullbody Society
Bullbody Society is the nonprofit side of this, founded by Will Bullard. Its focus is getting the same mentorship, camps, and clinics to athletes whose families cannot pay for them.
Full detail is on the Bullbody Society page.
Get started
Mentorship runs alongside training, so it starts the same way — with a physical assessment and a conversation about what the athlete is working toward.
